Did you have the pleasure of attending the ACT Seniors and Better Ageing Expo last week?
An event that brought together the community to focus on the importance of healthy, active living for older Canberrans, it was an inspiring day filled with valuable information, fun activities and performances and plenty of opportunities to connect with services and programs aimed at promoting better ageing.
The expo featured more than 150 local and national exhibitors, each offering something unique for seniors. From ACT Government services, home assistance, retirement living, and fitness demonstrations to information about legal advice and financial planning, there was something for everyone. Attendees also had the chance to explore new hobbies and activities through demonstrations—whether it was learning about Tai Chi, Pickleball, Strength for Life and more.
The emphasis on social connections was clear, with many organisations offering ways for seniors to stay involved in their communities, meet new people, and participate in group activities such as volunteering and hobby groups throughout the ACT.
The ACT Seniors and Better Ageing Expo was a fantastic event that showcased the wide range of options available to help seniors lead fulfilling, active lives. It was a reminder that ageing can be a vibrant and exciting stage of life, full of opportunities for growth, learning, and connection.
If you missed it this year, we highly recommend attending the next Expo in 2025. It’s a wonderful way to stay informed, meet great seniors service providers and find ways to stay engaged during the different stages of ageing.
