Success for seniors trying the Light Rail

On Thursday 4 April, COTA ACT partnered with Transport Canberra and Canberra Metro to host a ‘come and try’ day for seniors to find out more about the light rail, and travel on Canberra’s public transport system.

The sun came out, and staff from COTA ACT spoke with dozens of seniors and members of the public all about travel in Canberra, using their ACT Seniors Card, accessing Seniors Card discounts, preventing falls and our exercise program Strength for Life.

A light rail vehicle and electric bus were parked allowing people to explore the features and functionality of our public transport vehicles.

If you’d like more information about traveling on public transport with your ACT Seniors Card you can contact the COTA ACT office on 6282 3777. Read more about Transport Canberra (including transport routes) on their website: www.transport.act.gov.au or call them on 6207 7711.
