You Have To Laugh is a full-day writing workshop with published writer Lizz Murphy, exploring life today and back in the day — happy times, changing times, fond memories. Explore memories and life experiences through writing — poetry, short prose, informal stories and anecdotes.

You Have To Laugh will include time to write, sharing new writing (if you wish), sharing stories, gentle feedback from the group and the facilitator. There’ll be writing exercises and other prompts. You are invited to bring along special objects and your own photos of people and place. Don’t forget your writing materials.

A part of UPSTAGEING Canberra, this workshop is for older people from all backgrounds and writing experiences and for younger generations who would like to join in too.

Lizz Murphy is a popular workshop facilitator who has published fifteen books including ten poetry titles. Her latest poetry collections are Bitumen Psalms (Flying Islands Pocket Poets) and The Wear of My Face (Spinifex Press).
