Waltzing with the Matildas – ZEST: Dance for Wellbeing @ The National Portrait Gallery
To celebrate UPSTAGEING at The NPG, ZEST: Dance for Wellbeing offers you WALTZING WITH THE MATILDAS – a free taster class, inspired by the stunning moving image portrait of THE MATILDAS.
Arrive for a 10.30 tour of the art work by Angela Tiatia, followed by a fun and accessible dance workshop inspired by the strength, power and connection that drives this dynamic and heroic team.
ZEST: Dance for Wellbeing offers movement classes designed for adults who want to keep their body and brain active and healthy, regardless of their mobility, skill or age.
We start sitting on a chair, with options to stand and travel. No previous dance experience or dance partner is necessary.
The program grew from the Dance for Parkinson’s classes established in the ACT in 2013. Classes are taught by a team of highly experienced and dedicated dance artists, who will guide you through a carefully planned series of dance activities.
Dance is a unique vehicle, naturally combining multiple approaches to movement and exercise, building confidence and an improved quality of life. Feed your body and spirit with music and movement, be physically and mentally inspired and stimulated, have fun, meet new friends and feel good! Tis a great package!
Some of the ZEST dancers have performed publicly and at functions specifically supporting aspects of ageing. In performance they embody the spirit of dance thriving in all ages and abilities.
