Threads of Time by Networks Australia
Networks Australia is a group of 25 practising visual artists living and working in Canberra and the surrounding region. The group has worked together for the past 15 years, exhibiting locally/nationally/internationally in themed site specific and curated shows. The exhibition “Threads of Time” brings creativity and collective life experience to the fore. The artists exhibiting in “Threads of time” each tell a story of their unique way of dealing with the past, present and future, time passing, stages of life and experience of ageing. Most works use textiles, a medium deeply connected to memory and continuity. Fabrics and fibres carry traces of repair, endurance, resilience and make connections across generations.
The artists will be available to talk to visitors and offer free creative short workshops.
Canberra Spinners and Weavers also welcome visitors.
