Our Group steps onto the dance floor to showcase a unique experience where leaders and followers connect with nuanced communication, fostering mutual understanding and promoting a UNESCO recognised heritage dance form.

Tango welcomes all ages, backgrounds and abilities, celebrating the richness each individual brings. Every embrace is an act of respect, honouring boundaries and personal expression.
We celebrate a vibrant art form that transcends differences, building connections through shared passion and the beauty of music based on the cultural traditions of the Rio Del Plata. The performance includes Tango, Milonga, and Vals styles to showcase the past and present of this evolving culture of dance.

The Tango Social Club of Canberra has been dancing and promoting the UNESCO recognised Tango dance form for over 25 years. The dancers are social dancers, not stage performers. Their dances are not choreographed but rely on the connection formed between the leader and the follower. This means, each individual dance is unique, fleeting and special. Tango can range from a simple, but perfectly timed walk, to a rhythmical syncopated flurry of dynamic legs flying through the air with perfectly controlled movements.
