Rhythm & Resilience : Stories of Music and Community – A Conversation with Raio De Sol

The central element of the days program will be a live, one-hour audience event titled “A Conversation with Raio De Sol.” This on-stage discussion will focus on the lived experiences of band members, particularly older participants, exploring themes of creative ageing, wellbeing, inclusion, and community connection. The conversation will be hosted by a Raio De Sol member alongside an external facilitator, offering both insider and outsider perspectives.

Following the performance, join us inside Salt House Community Centre in Haig Park for a live, on-stage conversation with members of Raio De Sol. This special event focuses particularly on the experiences of older participants, exploring themes of creative ageing, wellbeing, resilience and belonging. Hosted by a Raio De Sol member alongside an external facilitator, this relaxed and engaging discussion will offer personal insights into how music has shaped members’ lives — including stories of recovery, community connection and lifelong creativity. Salt House Community Centre will serve as the hub for the workshops and conversation, and will also host a small pop-up display celebrating the history of Raio De Sol. This will include archival gig posters, past costumes/uniforms, and looping video content such as short interviews with older members.
