Clay carving workshops series – Workshop 2 – Relief carving and stamping on pre-made clay tiles

The tile decorating workshop includes two clay surface embellishment techniques: relief carving and stamping. These techniques will be used to create imagery based on Banksia plant leaves. The tiles will be pre-made by the artist/facilitator and ready for surface embellishment in the workshop. 

Carving techniques and processes will be introduced. All tools and equipment provided. The clay works will be fired and available later for collection. No prior experience needed.

1.00 -2.15 pm (75 mins) – Suitable for adults, all abilities and experience welcome

Three clay carving workshops, facilitated by experienced artist/educator Amanda Andlee Poland, will be held on Sunday 22 March 2026 in conjunction with her solo exhibition, DHULWA/BANKSIA re leaf, held in the Visitor Centre Gallery, Australian National Botanic Gardens.

It is recommended that you view the exhibition and the Banksia Gardens before the workshop session.
