Midweek Matters: Pets & Positive Ageing
As we age, the bond with our pets becomes even more precious. They are our loyal companions, best friends and daily sources of comfort.
Join us for this practical session that focuses on initiatives to support the welfare of older pet owners and their animals. The session will include a presentation by Pets and Positive Ageing, a Canberra-based volunteer community organisation dedicated to helping older pet owners and their beloved pets stay together. The RSPCA will also be there to talk about their services.
This informative gathering offers a complete picture of local pet support, from accessing pet-friendly transport, vet services and emergency boarding to navigating housing options and aged care policies. You’ll also learn about the growing number of ACT care providers welcoming pets, as well as how in-home care packages can assist with daily pet care.
Whether you are planning for the future or currently looking for a little extra help with your faithful companion, come along to hear from our guest speakers, ask your questions, and enjoy afternoon tea while connecting with others.
