Lamp Shade Making by “Made By You Canberra”

Looking for unique Canberra activities to spruce up your home decor? Create your own bespoke lampshade with Juanita Flett at this hands-on workshop – it’s easier than you think!

Turn your drum shade into a ceiling light, bedside table shade or floor lamp shade. Your teacher will provide the kits for this class (including a 30cm diameter frameset).

You will just need to bring your choice of fabric for your own unique lampshade to match it to your space. Fabric requirements are half a metre of 100 per cent cotton fabric (stretch fabric is not suitable).

At the end of this fun, interactive class, you’ll have your very own bespoke lampshade to display in your home and the confidence to continue creating with textiles!

30cm round drum shade kit, each kit includes the following:
A pre-cut length of PVC backing
Two lampshade rings with adapter for Australian light bulb size
A roll of double-sided tape
Finishing tool to help neaten and tuck in raw edges
Instructions, including images
