Step inside the Fitters Workshop for a vibrant art and craft exhibition celebrating the creativity of older Canberrans. Discover painting, textiles, ceramics, woodwork and more, all handcrafted with skill and passion. Meet the makers, hear their stories and enjoy a welcoming space filled with colour, imagination and inspiration.

“This is me”: A postcard or zine for my storyteller
This workshop, conducted by artist Clare Martin and writer Jen Webb, works from the theme of ‘What I want you to know about me’; participants choose images/text that illustrate this, and create a postcard or zine ‘addressed’ to the future, and the ‘someone’ who might want to tell your story. All materials provided.

Get creative with paper quilling
In this hands-on class, participants will learn paper quilling – the age-old art of rolling and shaping paper strips into intricate 3d designs.
Wednesday – 25th of March 2026
Come and try sketching
Join a friendly group of sketchers for a mornings sketching. If you have never sketched before here is your chance to give it a try.
All you need is pencil and some paper, and a stool/camping chair to get started. However, if you have more art materials bring them, digital sketching is also part of the many and varied materials our sketchers use to document the world around them.
There will be no formal tuition, however USK members will be happy to provide some guidance and share their experiences as a sketcher with participants.

Craft it Forward!
Celebrate the Canberra groups who give their work to communities here and overseas. Canberra is a veritable crafting and making paradise and many groups’ primary objective is to give products to people in need, others upcycle and others will finish your abandoned projects! Meet the people behind the work, see skills in action, enjoy refreshments.
