Creativity & Wisdom using clay moulds: an intergenerational workshop by Wisdom Wing Collective

Wisdom Wing Collective – Intergenerational workshop to share knowledge and create beautiful trafitional products using clay moulds. A collaborative group of seniors and community members will demonstrate and present hands on experience and conduct activities using clay mould supported by trafitional music and cultural celebrations.

Imparting wisdom using clay moulds is a vibrant intergenerational visual arts event hosted collectively by Wisdom Wing seniors. It provides a platform for youngsters and adults, families, and community members to come together and participate in an afternoon workshop which will bring out the skill, creativity, natural talent while traditionally connecting us to our rich culture.

Participants will learn and engage in hands on artwork, creating moulds using clay. This workshop is an opportunity to also encourage storytelling, skill sharing, and the passing down of knowledge from our senior generation to next generation.

Throughout the event, attendees will be learning and collaborating with seniors who will impart knowledge about the use of clay to make interesting mould products like traditional lamps. Seniors will also teach how to decorate these lamps or diyas with oil paint and teach them the technique of air drying.

All participants will be given necessary materials, receive guidance and assistance from seniors and community artists who will share cultural narratives and personal experiences behind each technique.

This workshop aims to transfer skills, bring out the creativity, promote inclusiveness, encourage socialising, motivate togetherness and show respect for the age old wisdom whilst promoting the joy of co-creation in an intergenerational setup.

The afternoon will also feature live music, light performances / celebrations, and opportunity for community members to showcase their creativity in arts and music.

This workshop is suitable for all ages above 5yrs. Creativity & Wisdom using clay moulds is a free, ticketed event designed to foster community bonding, cultural appreciation, and creative expression in a welcoming and inclusive space.
