If your eyesight is not what it was, or if you are blind or have low vision, audio description ensures you don’t miss out on what’s happening. Available at selected films and exhibitions at this year’s UPSTAGEING Festival.

Polly Ellen Goodwin
Polly is a professional audio describer, who has created audio description for anything from a 1916 silent film, to a 21st century videogame. Beside her day job audio describing broadcast television, cinema, streamed content, live presentations, and galleries, she is a PhD candidate focusing on the optimisation of audio description for older adults. She is collaborating on projects to develop an audio description infrastructure in Sri Lanka, and to devise a more authentic version of accessible silent cinema.
