The Directory was launched by the ACT Minister for Seniors, Ms Suzanne Orr MLA, highlighting the ACT Government’s commitment to supporting older Canberrans with practical cost-of-living savings whilst acknowledging the contribution of the business community.
Managed by COTA ACT on behalf of the ACT Government, the new 2026-2027 Directory offers ACT Seniors Card holders discounts from more than 450 local businesses across the ACT and online, alongside information about key government concessions available to eligible seniors.
Business discounts span hospitality, retail, health and wellbeing, trades, medical, leisure and professional services. The directory also includes information on ACT Government concessions such as reduced vehicle registration, public transport concessions and free green waste bins.
COTA ACT CEO Jenny Mobbs said the directory continued to a valued resource for ACT Seniors Card holders.
“The ACT Seniors Card Discount Directory is a practical, everyday resource that helps older Canberrans stretch their budgets while staying connected to local businesses and services,” Ms Mobbs said. “With more than 450 participating businesses and clear information about Government concessions, the Directory makes it easier for seniors to find the support they’re entitled to.”
The artwork for the front cover was chosen from the entries in the UPSTAGEING Canberra Art and Photography competition, with Christiaan Rudolph Victor Slotemaker de Bruine (born 7 May 1941, The Hague; died 27 August 2024, Canberra) with his “View from Arboretum at Sunset” in Acrylic.
Christiaan was a famous landscape architect best known as the originator and designer of Canberra’s Floriade, now Australia’s largest spring festival. He conceived Floriade in the mid-1980s, drawing inspiration from the famous Keukenhof in the Netherlands and shaping the inaugural 1988 event as part of Canberra’s 75th anniversary and Australia’s Bicentenary.
The new Directory is stocked at all ACT Public Libraries and the COTA ACT office in Hughes. A digital copy of the Directory sits on the ACT Seniors Card website and is updated regularly with new businesses.
