The Positive Ageing Awards are held to recognise and celebrate the many individuals, groups and organisations that contribute to the health and wellbeing of our older population.
Anyone can be nominated for an award, and the nomination process is free. Self nominations are welcome.
Community Sector Senior Volunteer Award
Recognises outstanding voluntary or unpaid work by a senior serving the community.
Intergenerational Award (2 categories)
- Recognises an outstanding person between the ages of 18-30 who works in either a voluntary or paid capacity with seniors
- Recognises an outstanding person over the age of 60 who works in either a voluntary or paid capacity with young people
Capital Chemist Age Friendly Community Award
Recognises a community organisation which has demonstrated its innovation and services involving seniors and enhancing opportunities for seniors to lead full and satisfying lives
Seniors Advocate Award
Recognises outstanding commitment by a person who, in their professional capacity advocates for seniors. This can encompass a broad spectrum of professions in health, not for profit organisations, education, art, music or sport
Transport Canberra Transport Services Award
(Community or public) Recognises a transport employee who has provided outstanding service to older people in a voluntary or paid capacity
